Go to Thailand
Thailand? Luar Negeri? Siap?
Going
To Thailand
By : Hana Apriliani
One
day, I felt
very inspired to travel to Thailand by myself. I felt I needed time to myself,
to reflect, and to live an adventure without relying on others. I felt it was a
great opportunity to find eace and get to know my deeper self.
I started planning my trip
carefully. I searched for information about the places I wanted to visit,
solo-traveler-friendly accommodation, and reliable transportation within
Thailand.
First of all, I wanted to visit
Bangkok, the capital city that holds many cultural and historical treasures. I
wanted to explore the beautiful temples, visit the famous night market, and try
the delicious local food. I also want to experience the city’s nightlife. I
would like to explore the outskirts of the city by bicycle and enjoy its
stunning natural beauty.
Lastly, I want to visit the
beautiful islands of Thailand, such as Phuket or Koh Phi Phi. I dream of lazy
days on the beach with clear water, relaxing in the sun, and doing water
activities like snorkeling and diving.
Before going there, of course, we
have to book a flight ticket first. I have to determine the day that is
suitable for a vacation there. After looking for info on the internet, the
right time for a vacation to Thailand is between November and April.
I made a ticket booking via online by:
Yes,
I bought a ticket for December 2, 2023 at 2:10 p.m. with a flight duration of
24 hours and 5 minutes. I chose the departure point from Achmad Yani Semarang
and the destination to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International Airport, having to
transit twice, in Jakarta and Singapore.
After a few weeks of preparing everything, the day of my departure finally arrived. I arrived at the airport 2 hours before schedule. Next, I found the airline counter and lined up to check-in.
After eating, I looked for the
prayer room to pray.
I continued my journey to Singapore
at 8 p.m. for my second transit. I arrived at 11 p.m. and the airport was very
quiet and still. However, my little friend was waiting for me in corner of the
room to pick me up. Yes, I’m staying at her apartment temporarily until
tomorrow.
The next day, I was driven back to
the airport for my flight to Bangkok. It was a sad to only see my little friend
for a short while. However, I had to continue this vacation trip happily.
During the trip, I enjoyed the
stunning scenery, pampering my tongue with delicious food that had been
prepared by the airline. Because the trip was quite long, I also fell asleep.
I arrived in Thailand excited to
embark on this adventure. I boarded a taxi to go to my destination. First, I
had to go to the hotel to rest after the long journey and store my luggage.
The next day, the journey began in
Thailand’s capital city, Bangkok. I marveled at the beauty of Wat Arun Temple,
located along the Chao Phraya River. The temple is famous for its beautiful
towers with colorful glass ornaments. We also visited the Grand Palace, where
the king of Thailand lives. I was mesmerized by its architectural beauty and
intricate details.
The next day, I continued my
journey towards Chiang Mai city. I was mesmerized by the natural beauty of this
area. I took a trekking tour in the lush forests and visited the unique Karen
tribal villages. Also visited Bua Thong Market which is famous for its volcanic
rocks that can be climbed without the use of ropes.
The most beautiful trip was
visiting Phi Phi Island. I and some other travelers took a boat from Phuket and
saw the beauty of the small islands around the main island. The water was
crystal clear with lots of interesting marine life. Hire a boat and go around
the pretty little islands, swim and relax on the beautiful beaches.
During my trip, I learned to be
more confident in making decisions and stepping out of my comfort zone. I
learned to recognize and appreciate different cultures and traditions.
Although I traveled alone, I never
felt lonely. I always contacted my family and friends by phone or message to
share my experiences and get their encouragement. I also met new people who
made the trip more colorful.
When I returned home, I bought back
beautiful memories, new friendships, and wisdom that I will carry with me in my
daily life. I feel inspired to continue living adventures and exploring the
world, and taking risks to achieve my dreams.
I shared my travel stories and
photos with friends and family, sharing the magic and beauty of Thailand that I
encountered. I hope my stories can motivate and inspire them to follow their
own dreams.
Traveling to Thailand by myself has opened my eyes to the beauty of the world and given me the opportunity to find strength in myself. I will always be grateful for this experience and hope to return again to explore more of Thailand.
